Iya Villania says youngest son Astro is her 'first natural birth out of my four deliveries'
A little over a month after giving birth to her fourth child Astro Phoenix Arellano, Iya Villania shared all the details of what she described as her "longest and most painful delivery" in a video uploaded on YouTube Sunday.
In a vlog post titled "The Birth of Astro Phoenix Arellano," Iya shared Astro was "my first natural birth out of my [four] deliveries!"
"This birth is extra special because it will always remind me of how God took me thru til the end even when I had given up," the mother of four added.
Iya narrated how her water broke on June 4, prompting them to go straight to the hospital.
According to Iya, she had always wanted to experience a natural birth, but "the pain would get overwhelming," which made her ask for drugs in her three previous deliveries.
"I was praying for His strength and courage every single morning, hoping I'd finally get to experience it, since we feel this will be our last pregnancy, hence also my last chance to experience this [natural birth]," Iya said.
She was initially discouraged with the progress, with the pain was becoming intolerable, but a little over 30 minutes since going into labor, Iya only needed six minutes of "delirium" to get baby Astro out.
"The drugs didn't make it! My dream unmedicated* birthing experience had just happened! God made it happen," she said.
From her experience, Iya said that she now understands why "mothers still choose to do it again."
"Thank you to everyone who continues to love and support the Arellano's," Iya concluded.
Iya and Drew tied the knot in 2014. They have three other children together: Primo, Leon, and Alana. — LA, GMA News
