There’s a procedure called forehead reduction for those with wide noo

In case you didn’t know, there is a procedure called forehead reduction for those struggling with what some would describe as a wide noo.

According to a “Pinoy MD” report, among those who have tried forehead reduction was Joyce Cano, a transwoman who saw herself with too high a hairline.

“Minsan, nagpo-post ako sa Facebook, may nag-comment doon na ang lapad ng noo, parang landingan ng eroplano,” she said.

“Gusto ko talaga [to] look good, beautiful. Gusto [ko] na walang ipintas [sa’kin] yung ibang tao. Laging presentable, na maging babae sa katawan, sa lahat,” she added.

This is the main reason Joyce decided to give the procedure a go after seeing cosmetic surgeon Dr. Henry Claravall on TikTok.

It costs at least P80,000, which Joyce said her Australian partner will be shouldering.

According to Claravall, forehead reduction is where skin is removed near the hairline. It is mostly done for aesthetic purposes and to achieve proportion on the face, though there isn’t an ideal forehead size.

Several factors must also be considered before undergoing the operation: skin laxity, hair pattern, and the patient’s health status.

Joyce underwent the hour-long procedure last July 5. From a forehead measuring 6.3 centimeters, hers now measure around 4.3 centimeters from the brow bone to the hairline.

Joyce was given anaesthesia prior to the cutting of skin so even if the operation was bloody, she remained relaxed despite being awake the whole time.

“Very fulfilling, happy. Na-impress ako sa gawa ni Doc. Happy ako kasi nakikita ko yung difference tsaka yung mukha ko kahit hindi pa siya healed. Satisfied ako sa gawa ni Doc,” she said.
