Miss International 2013 Bea Santiago successfully undergoes kidney transplant
We couldn't be happier for Miss International 2013 Bea Santiago for her successful kidney transplant!
The beauty queen took to Instagram Thursday morning (Manila time) to deliver the good news.
"NEW KIDNEY WHO THIS?" The beauty queen began, and immediately acknowledged her younger brother, who generously donated his kidney.
"Thank you to my baby brother's love and bean, I am changed. Thank you, world, for showing me kindness and patience and of course to my family, friends, and strangers for your support, countless prayers, and positive energy," the 32-year-old Filipina beauty queen added.
Bea also expressed her gratefulness that she now feels "brand new, loved, and renewed" after the third try at a kidney transplant and three years of dialysis.
She ended her post with hashtags, #donate #beahero #savelives #MYBROTHERMYHERO
On Instagram Stories, Bea also thanked the Pinay nurses and staff in Toronto General Hospital, who guided her and her brother throughout the process.
She also dedicated an IG Stories post to her brother, thanking him for "saving my life."
Bea was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in 2018 and had been waiting for a kidney transplant since then.
In 2020, she revealed that she undergoes dialysis five times a week.
It's been an incredible journey for Bea, and we really can't be happier to see her healthier and better!
