Two boys suffering from tongue tumor get help from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Two boys who are suffering from tongue tumor will finally get medical treatment with the help of GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to “24 Oras” Friday, Jay-R Almazan was already scheduled for treatment, but it was delayed due to the surge of COVID-19 cases last year.

Jay-R’s father, Leonardo Almazan Jr., said all he wanted was for his son to be able to eat properly and go to school.

With help of the Philippine Army’s 5th Infantry Division, Jay-R was brought from Isabela to a hospital in Manila.

According to senior ENT consultant Dr. Gil Vicente, Jay-R had hemangiolymphangioma.

“’Pag sinabing hemangio, dugo ang component noon, at the same time may lymphatic system doon eh,” he said.

He also said one in 12,000 children suffered from this condition.

Meanwhile, Gadiel Caagusan, another child who had a similar condition, had already undergone angiogram for his treatment.

To those who wish to help Jay-R and Gadiel, GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through its website. – RC, GMA News
