Sunshine Cruz shuts down bashers who try to insult her because of her age

Sunshine Cruz took to Facebook to shut down bashers who have tried to insult her because of her age.

On her official Facebook page, Tuesday, Sunshine shared screenshots of netizens who left insulting comments about her age.

"Guys! Hello! Paalala lang po and to educate others sa maling pag-iisip about ageing," Sunshine wrote in the caption of her post.

"Being a lola or having the privilege to age is a blessing denied to many," she added. "Huwag natin gawing ugali at gamitin ang salitang 'matanda' to hurt, insult or describe a person negatively."

The 44-year-old actress said she is "proud of my age. At 44, I am healthy and happy."

"Ang mahalaga ay meron tayong pinagkatandaan. At higit sa lahat wala po tayong tinatapakan at sinasaktan just because nadadagdagan ang ating edad. Stay safe and healthy everyone," she ended her note.

In the screenshots she shared, one comment read, "Lola yung buto mo ingat ingat din baka mabalian ka."

Sunshine replied to the comment and said, "Are you trying to insult me by calling me lola? Proud of my age! I am 44, healthy and happy."

"I’d rather be a lola than be you. Kumain ka para magkaroon ng nutrition ang katawan at pag-iisip mo. You look frail and hungry. Take care and stay healthy," she added.

This is not the first time Sunshine fought against those who have tried to shame her because of her age.
