3 Filipina celebrities who strongly advocate body positivity

Erika Padilla, Cai Cortez, and Bubbles Paraiso are among the many women who are vocal about their body positivity advocacy.

Just in time for Women's Month, the three Filipina celebrities wrote empowering messages to encourage their fellow women to be confident in their own bodies.

On their respective Instagram accounts, Erika, Cai, and Bubbles expressed their thoughts about body confidence and how they deal with criticisms and unsolicited comments.

Bubbles, who widely shares her fitness habits on social media, shared that there was someone who asked why she doesn't post sexy bikini photos despite being at the beach.

In the post, she said, "I would rather be admired for my strength than for how my body looks."

"I want more girls to aspire to be strong females - to keep up with the guys or even beat them. And its not just about physical strength," she added.

Bubbles believes that people's bodies, especially women's "don’t exist just to be looked at or to be objectified."

"That’s why we need to teach girls at a young age not only how to view their bodies but also how to value it," she added.

Bubbles reminds her followers, "we workout not to punish ourselves for what we ate. We do it to celebrate what our bodies can do, how strong it can get, how fast it can go."

"Strong > skinny. ALWAYS," she ended her note and used the hashtag "Strong Not Skinny."

Meanwhile, Erika proudly showed all angles of her fit and muscular physique on her Instagram account.

"'Amazona' I’ve been called one many times before," she wrote.

"With my loud voice, feisty personality, muscular physique—'amazona' was actually a perfect description," she added.

Erika admitted that at first she "didn’t particularly like it because it felt unfeminine."

"But I’ve learned to embrace every bit of the amazona in me," she added.
Meanwhile, Cai Cortez who is a proud plus size model, also posted a photo of herself clad in her workout clothes.

In the caption, she talked about being confident in her own body.

"Body confidence doesn't come from trying to achieve the perfect body," she wrote. "It comes from embracing the one you've already got."
