Maxene Magalona explains meaning behind her minimalist ‘Be Love’ tattoo

Maxene Magalona just shared the inspiring meaning behind the phrase “be love” tattooed on her arm.

The actress wrote a lengthy post on Instagram about the five ways she practices “authentic self love.” It begins with self-awareness and self-observation which, she says, are “key steps in getting to know yourself on a deeper level.”

After that, Maxene says she “invests in herself” by sticking to “a non-negotiable morning routine aka my sadhana (daily spiritual practice); and also “eliminates” fear, anxiety, self-doubt, shame and guilt by processing and holding space for her emotions.

Maxene also tries to work on her inner energy “because, as a fully functioning adult, I know that I am 100% responsible for the vibrations that I send out into the world.”

Finally, Maxene says “I offer myself love, patience, kindness, gentleness and compassion everyday so that I can sincerely share the same kind of energy to others."

“Love is energy and if you want to give and receive love, you have to BE love,” the actress explained.

“How can you be love if you are full of pain, resentment and hate? How can someone else love you if you are always so negative? How can you love others if you don’t even love yourself?”

Maxene Magalona, the daughter of Pinoy rap legend Francis Magalona, previously opened up about experiencing mental health struggles and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.

She openly shares her self-help and wellness practices with her more than 2 million followers on social media. — LA, GMA News
