‘Starstruck’ contestant Jesi Corcuera shows chest scars from transition surgery

Former “Starstruck” contestant Jesi Corcuera took to Instagram to show the chest scars he got from his transition surgery.

Sharing a photo of himself smiling and topless as two long scars laid visible on his chest, the celebrity trans man said he was happy that he was finally free.

“Hindi maitagong ngiti. Mga ngiti na walang katumbas na halaga. Maaaring hindi niyo maintindihan ang sayang aking nararamdaman,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Pero sa likod ng mga hiwa sa ilalim ng aking dibdib ’yan ang simbolo ng aking kalayaan. Kalayaan sa mapanghusgang lipunan.”

[A smile that cannot be hidden. Smiles that are priceless. You may not understand the happiness that I am feeling. But the cuts on my chest symbolize my freedom from a judgmental society.]

He encouraged those who were part of the LGBTQIA+ community like him to claim their own happiness and freedom.

“Para sa mga tulad kong parte ng makulay na bahaghari ’wag kayong titigil makamit ang inyong kalayaan at kasiyahan,” he said.

[For people like me who are part of the colorful rainbow, don’t stop until you achieve your own freedom and happiness.]

Before ending his post, he expressed his appreciation to those who stayed by his side, including his family, his partner Camille, and his doctor, Eric Yapjuangco.
