Jennica Garcia opens up about feeling mom guilt over needing alone time
Jennica Garcia opened up about being a mother and needing alone time without feeling guilty about it.
During the "Las Hermanas" press conference on Friday, the actress shared that she was able to be at her "most relaxed state" when she was at the series' lock-in taping, especially since the cast had specific rooms to themselves, as they were undergoing quarantine.
"May moment sa quarantine, sa specific rooms namin, it was very therapeutic for me (There was a moment in quarantine in our specific rooms, it was very therapeutic for me)," she said. "I didn't know I needed time off as a mother. Don't get me wrong, I really really love my children."
"I needed some time alone without feeling the guilt of leaving my children behind," she added.
In the past, the actress shared that she would call up her father to take care of her children for a day so she could have a few hours to herself, but for the whole time, she was overwhelmed with worry — whether her kids were eating right or were doing well.
During the lock-in taping, Jennica shared that she didn't feel as guilty since she knew she was doing it for her family as well.
"Sa 'Las Hermanas' wala akong guilty feeling kasi alam ko pag-uwi ko may dala akong pera. I can be able to treat the kids with what they like," she said.
"Las Hermanas," which also features other actors such as Yasmien Kurdi, Faith de Silva, and Thea Tolentino, revolves around three sisters who encounter a life-altering event and are left to pick up the pieces. It is set to premiere this October 25.
Jennica has two children with Alwyn Uytingco, namely Athena Mori and Alessi. Last May, Jennica confirmed that she and Alwyn, who tied the knot in February 2014, have parted ways.
However, just this week, she revealed that they were talking about building their family together again. — LA, GMA News
