Rez Cortez to undergo surgery for suspected liver cancer

Cai Cortez is asking for prayers as her father, veteran actor Rez Cortez, is scheduled to undergo surgery for suspected liver cancer tomorrow.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Cai shared photos and videos of her father spending time with his loved ones.

The "First Yaya" actress wrote: "Please help us pray for daddy's successful surgery. Dad has suspected liver cancer and he will be undergoing surgery tomorrow to remove the mass."

She added: "I believe that daddy is strong and his love for his apos will help him recover in no time, but I also know that our prayers and well wishes can help speed things up. Thank you."

Many netizens and celebrities alike showed support for the veteran actor on the comments, including Lorna Tolentino and Thia Thomalla.
