Kris Bernal claps back at body shamers anew: ‘My purpose is way bigger than anyone’s opinion of me’
Kris Bernal is not letting anyone dictate what or how her body should look like.
On Wednesday, the actress shared photos of herself looking happy in a white crop top and long black skirt that highlighted her abs and fit body.
On her caption, Kris made it clear that she wasn’t having it. “Yeah, right, whatever,” she wrote.
“My purpose is way bigger than anyone’s opinion of me,” she said. “I will never sacrifice who I am because someone else has a problem with it.”
Considering the current situation where “emotional and mental well-being are gravely impacted,” Kris said she hoped everyone would understand that each person was unique.
“I hope more will normalize our bodies for keeping us alive, no matter what shape it's in. Normalize shunning ‘beauty standards’ because there’s none. We are all strong and beautiful just as we are.”
Kris also took the time to share the things she did on a daily basis to prove a point.
“I work hard. I’m responsible. I dress well to feel better. I put myself together every morning. I manage my money. I pay my bills. I run my businesses finding out my greater purpose of providing jobs.”
“I am educated and respectful. I have visions and plans for the future. Who doesn’t value those, doesn’t deserve me,” she added. “Love and light! Find your inner peace!”
On her Instagram stories, meanwhile, Kris shared a post from a supporter who had called out body shamers swarming her feed.
“Let’s just be kind to each other by seeing the beauty in a person instead of the opposite. I don’t need you to be concerned ‘cause my family who’s with me every single day isn’t even concerned.”
This isn’t the first time Kris stood up against body shamers. In November, she asked people to stop telling her to eat and reminded them that “you are beautiful whatever your shape is.” – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
