Nadine Samonte asks for prayers amid family’s health struggles

Nadine Samonte took to Instagram to ask for prayers amid the health struggles her family is facing.

On Tuesday, the actress shared photos of her daughter Heather smiling adorably while wearing a mermaid costume, saying she’s “kinda emotional.”

“I don’t know what to say or do but I know everything will be fine. Kapit lang, prayers lang [Just hold on and pray],” she wrote in a mix of English and Filipino.

“’Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.’ This is what I am thinking for the past [weeks],” she added.

Nadine said they “are going through a lot” even though it isn’t evident and but this time, she couldn’t bottle it all inside anymore.

“I need your prayers. This week will be very tough for me and the whole family,” she said.

According to Nadine, Heather is set to undergo an eye surgery while her husband Richard Chua will have an angiogram, which checks on one’s blood vessels.

Apart from Heather and Richard, Nadine is also struggling with her pregnancy with their third child due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APAS).

With these challenges, Nadine said she was having a hard time keeping her feelings to herself.

“Here I am fighting and trying to be strong for them, for all of us,” she said. “Crying on my own so they won’t see how I really feel. I wanna be strong for them. It’s so hard when it’s family.”

“I’m really emotional right now. I can’t stop my tears while typing this,” she added. “Lord, give me all the strength. I know we can do this with you.”

As of writing, Nadine’s post has garnered 200 comments from fans and celebrities, including Chynna Ortaleza and Mariel Padilla, who sent her messages of support.

“I will keep you all in our prayers! The Lord will continue to be with your family and all of us always. Just cry, Nadine! You are strong. No doubt!” Chynna wrote in a mix of English and Filipino.

“You got this mama,” Mariel added.

Nadine and Richard, who tied the knot in 2013, have one other kid named Titus. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
