Bianca Gonzales reveals getting emotional after receiving COVID-19 vaccine

Bianca Gonzales revealed she got emotional after she received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

On Saturday, the host posted a photo of her bandage and shared the process in the vaccination site at Ateneo de Manila University.

“‘Happy Independence Day’ takes a whole new meaning for me today,” she wrote.

Bianca said that as soon as she found out that the entertainment industry fell under the A4 category, she tried her luck and signed up online.

“I was so happy to get my slot today in the Ateneo de Manila vaccination site. What an emotional moment. Like after everything everyone has been through this past year, [this is it], the light at the end of the tunnel and our hope of getting through this,” she said.

Bianca recalled thatv the vaccination process was orderly and quick.

“We got Sinovac, and for me and also having asked doctor friends, all the vaccines are good and the best vaccine is the one available,” she said.

“When my turn came for the jab, it was quick and painless (magaan ang kamay!) and when I asked, she said she easily does 300 shots a day!! Omg. Then, that is it! They asked us to wait 15 minutes to check for any allergic reactions and if all clear, they give your vaccination card,” she added.

“I got most emotional looking at my card. The past months, I would see those around me na senior or A3 getting their doses, and I could not help but feel, ‘sana ako din.’ Our ates at home got theirs too because they are A3 (with comorbidities). And ito na! Ito naaaa. Nakakaiyak. Thank you Lord. Thank you to all the health workers and volunteers at every single site for doing the work you do!”

Bianca said she signed up through the EZConsult website. To increase chances of getting a slot, the host advised users to log on to the site “during odd hours.”

“When you do get the chance to sign up for a vaccine, please do so. Today I am very, very, very grateful!”

On Monday, the government opened COVID-19 vaccination slots for those under the A4 category or workers who are physically required to go on site for their jobs, whether they are from the government, private, informal, and even household sectors. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
