‘SUPER TEAM’

Saab Magalona expresses appreciation for son Pancho’s physical therapist

Saab Magalona expressed her appreciation for Pancho’s physical therapist, who she said was one of the “essential people” on her son’s “Super Team.”

On Wednesday, Saab shared a photo of 3-year-old Pancho with his physical therapist Jayben and his yaya Chieng.

“This is an appreciation post for some essential people on Pancho’s Super Team! In this photo is his physical therapist Jayben (and a little bit of his Yaya Chieng)!” she wrote.

The Cheats band vocalist said Jayben worked with them 3-4 times a week after having online sessions last year.

“Last year we were doing it all through online meetings and even if it was crazy challenging for us,” said Saab.

The mom said they saw “great progress in Pancho’s motor skills because the people at home really learned how to properly handle him in everyday activities and not just during therapy time.”

She added she was also happy that Jayben had already been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Saab described the physical therapist as “an amazing teammate with a good heart.”

“I’m so excited to work [with] him in helping other children with special needs! God bless all our frontliners!!!”

In January 2020, Saab shared on her vlog Pancho’s harrowing first days in the world as he fought to stay alive.

She and her husband Jim Bacarro were told that Pancho might not survive like his twin sister Luna.

After Luna’s heart stopped beating, doctors performed an emergency C-section on Saab to save Pancho’s life.

When Pancho was born, he and Saab were both in critical condition. He had ventriculitis, sepsis, pulmonary hypertension, and grade 4 intraventricular hemorrhage.

At only 17 days old, Pancho had to undergo brain surgery. They were finally able to go home after 58 days in the hospital.
