Khloe Kardashian shares topless, ‘unfiltered’ video, proves her photos are not altered
Khloe Kardashian has had enough of people saying her photos are Photoshopped and unreal.
On Thursday, the reality star shared an almost bare, “unretouched and unfiltered” video of herself followed by a statement.
Her post came after a photo of herself wearing a leopard print bikini by the pool circulated online.
According to a Page Six report, the photo was taken by an assistant during a family gathering and was published on social media “by mistake.”
In her statement, the reality star said that although the bikini photo was “beautiful,” it still took a toll on her as someone who had “struggled with body image her whole life.”
“When someone takes a photo of you that isn’t flattering in bad lighting or doesn’t capture your body the way it is after working so hard to get it to this point—and then shares it to the world—you should have every right to ask for it to not be shared—regardless of who you are,” she wrote.
Khloe said the “pressure, constant ridicule and judgment” she had been getting to meet others’ standards had been “[too] much to bear.”
She said she had been called “the fat (and) ugly sister” and told she was not a Kardashian or she had a surgery, among the many comments she had received.
“‘Her dad must not be her real dad because she looks so different.’ ‘The only way she could have lost that weight must have been from surgery,’” she mentioned.
The reality star said she wanted “to be acknowledged for being human” even though her life had been open to the public.
“I am not perfect but I promise you that I try every day to live my life as honestly as possible and with empathy and kindness,” she said.
“It doesn’t mean that I have not made mistakes. But I’m not going to lie. It’s almost unbearable trying to live up to the impossible standards that the public have all set for me,” she added.
“When I take that criticism to use as motivation to get myself in the best shape of my life and to even help others with the same struggles, I am told I couldn’t have done it through hard work and I must have paid for it all.”
Khloe said she would continue living her life “unapologetically” in the way she wanted to be seen.
“My body, my image and how I choose to look and what I want to share is my choice. It’s not for anyone to decide or judge what is acceptable or not anymore.”
The youngest Kardashian then shared some positivity to those who had gone through the same struggles as her.
“We are all unique and perfect in our own way. Whichever way one chooses to be seen. I have realized that we cannot continue to live life trying to fit into the perfect mold of what others have set for us,” she said.
“Just do you and make sure your heart is happy.”
