Here's Jak Roberto's exact ab workout during the quarantine
Are you planning to whip that tummy into shape for the summer?
GMA News Online asked the one and only "Pambansang Abs," Jak Roberto, how he has been staying in shape during the quarantine, and the actor revealed a simple but effective core/ab workout routine.
Jak does the following exercises on a pull-up bar at home:
- Knee to chest
- Leg Raise
- Toe-to-bar
Jak's standard goal is three sets of 12 reps, but he likes to challenge himself to four or more sets for improvement.
He also said that he does cardio with a full-body workout, instead of core exercises alone.
Jak works out every other day and breaks down his routine into three:
- 1st day: Chest, abs and arms
- 2nd day: Back, legs and shoulders
- 3rd day: Legs
"Ina-alternate ko siya kasi hindi mag-sho-show 'yung abs mo kung puro 'yun lang 'yung winoworkout mo," Jak said.
"Kailangan talaga full-body work-out 'yan. Nawo-work out mo 'yung chest mo, na-wo-workout mo 'yung abs mo, na-wo-workout mo 'yung back mo, 'yung shoulder mo tsaka 'yung legs."
Jak also makes it a point to eat healthy and get plenty of rest.
He also reminds those who are new to working out to consult a trainer to ensure an effective workout and avoid injuries amid the COVID-19 pandemic. —MGP, GMA News
