Kyla opens up about anxiety, takes a break from social media

Kyla has revealed that she took a temporary break from social media.

The singer opened up about her brief hiatus in an Instagram post on Jan. 27, saying she deleted her Facebook and Instagram as “it felt like it was adding to my anxiety.”

“It’s nice to post pictures of your achievements and stuff like that—and get recognized for it. But, I feel like every time I would open it, someone is passively bragging about an accomplishment, traveling at this time when we can’t travel, getting new projects, etc,” Kyla wrote.

“It’s always led me to always compare myself to others, and it’s not good for me,” she added.

Kyla, however, was “back” after three days.

“I guess I couldn’t last more than a week doing this social media diet. I had to download it again to connect with my family,” she added.

At the end of her post, Kyla announced that she would be releasing a new song with Jay R entitled “Undeniable.”

“Watch out for it. Take care you guys. Take care of your mental health as well. Sending you love and light,” she wrote.

Kyla’s honest post garnered more than 21,000 posts on Instagram in just a few days as netizens related to her struggle with anxiety.

Her friends and fans also sent her some words of encouragement in the comments, including her fellow singer Jona, who told her “[You’re] just doing right Ate Ky. Protect our mental health, sending love back to u.” – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
