Joyce Pring admits to being insecure with body when younger
Joyce Pring is one of the few social media influencers that millennials truly admire and through the a True or False Q&A Instagram session, the Kapuso host and podcaster showed she is just like everyone else.
In an Instagram story posted Saturday, Joyce admitted to being insecure with her body in her younger years.
“True. I used to go on crash diets when I was younger (still have a proclivity for them now, to be honest),” she wrote.
At about 18 years old, a co-worker told her to not eat anymore, which made Joyce “go on an apple a day, cereals and water ONLY diet.” It resulted in huge weight loss of 100 pounds and “a looooong HATE relationship with food.”
According to her, it was only when she started doing triathlon and meeting good people that she realized her body is “God’s temple and creation” that she must take care of.
“Instead of [being] obsessed about looking good, I started making healthier choices. Bahala na haters.”
Joyce reminded her viewers that it is not right for people to comment on anyone’s weight.
“You don’t know its effect on them. It was [definitely] hard for me.” — Franchesca Viernes/LA, GMA News
