Nico Bolzico, Erwan Heussaff release REBEL, an app to help you get fit and healthy

Nico Bolzico and Erwan Heussaff teamed up and released REBEL, a mobile app to help Filipinos with their fitness, food, and even mental health needs.

REBEL actually features coaches for all three health components — fitness, food, and mental health — helping  Filipinos "invest in themselves and break barriers."

There are more than 200 videos available at launch, featuring movements in yoga, muscle toning, dance, martial arts, bodyweight, and HIIT workouts.

"The app also acts as a personal trainer with long term 7 to 30-day programs tailored to fitness goals such as weight loss, muscle gain and getting fit," the press release said.

And whether you're a beginner or already in an advanced level, there's a routine for you.

Because it was made to really help people start a healthier lifestyle amid the pandemic, the app is downloadable for free.

“We want to help people with all the things that will bring more value to their lives. Our health is so important and having access to videos and information that will lead you towards a balanced lifestyle is key," Nico said in the statement.

The brothers-in-law worked with tech entrepreneurs from tech giant Rocket Internet (Lazada, Zalora, Foodpanda) and food-delivery unicorn Deliveroo.

Because the fitness and health content found in REBEL is curated by professionals from the comfort of their homes, users can be assured that the exercises, routines, and programs can be done anywhere and anytime they prefer.

New videos are also uploaded weekly to make sure the REBEL library is fresh and up to date.

Because food is just as important as exercise, REBEL also has a feature that gives out healthy and nutritious recipes that are both "convenient and local."

And as our locked down situation has proven, overall wellness is not complete without proper care for one's mental health. As such, REBEL has included mental health coaches and wellness experts for its users.

According to the press release, users will have access to programs to help them "regulate emotions and reduce stress and anxiety."

"REBEL motivates users to focus on their mental health by creating a daily habit of mindfulness exercises through guided meditations," the statement said. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
