Lovi Poe admits to feeling anxious amid the pandemic, shares coping mechanisms


Lovi Poe is no different from the majority, who have been feeling anxious amid COVID-19 and the quarantine period.

"Hindi mo talaga maiiwasan especially during this time that you're suddenly open to different kinds of emotions, especially that you're left alone at home and you have a lot of time to think," Lovi told GMA News Online.

Lovi shared that pre-quarantine, she was too busy to to sit with her thoughts.

"Before kasi I didn't have enough time to think and just sit down and just you know collect my thoughts because I was too busy," she said. "But now, sometimes these negative emotions can get to you."

Lovi continued and said, "the most important thing is how you're gonna react towards it."

While it's important to feel these emotions, the Kapuso actress stressed you should "never feed them."

To cope with the uncertaintly, Lovi shared how would do activities that uplift her spirits first thing in the morning.

"Ako, the moment I wake up sa umaga, parang I try to make sure that my mindset is different. I try to play lively music just to set the mood na as if it's a normal day," she said.

Additionally, Lovi said it's also important to "surround yourself in such away na even if you're away from your family, it's important that you keep your communication open, kausap mo yung mom mo, your friends, zoom meeting," she said.

"Because at the end of the day it's nice to be open about how you feel and I think that's the one thing that's important," she added.

Lovi also gave a piece of advice to those who have been feeling down because of what's been happening.

"If you feel anxious or you're feeling depressed  remember to call your best friend, your family and friends because hindi ka naman nag-iisa," she said.

"I think everyone is going through a tough time and you just have to remember that better days are coming, just be positive about the situation," she added.

Lovi said she always believed that "whatever it is that you speak of and verbalize that's what's gonna come your way so ako I think it's important to always shout out hope instead of negative emotions." — LA, GMA News
