'Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol' actor Heo Dong Won tests positive for COVID-19, new series suspends filming
Just as Netflix has announced the release of new K-drama series "Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol", its actor Heo Dong Won tests positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Because of this, the upcoming romantic comedy series announced that it will be halting production until certain measures are achieved.
According to a Soompi report, Heo Dong Won's agency Ace Factory shared the news on Thursday, suspecting that the actor may have gotten the virus after a cast member from the actor's play "Jjamppong" tested positive with COVID-19.
The agency shared that after the play's cast member tested positive, Heo Dong Won received notice from the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) on Wednesday, for coming in contact with someone infected.
The actor was then tested and went into self-quarantine.
"The results of Heo Dong Won’s test on the morning of August 19 confirmed that he had been infected by the play’s cast member. Currently, Heo Dong Won has been transferred to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to receive further reexamination," the agency said.
After receiving news of the actor's health condition, "Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol" released a statement announcing that their actors and staff have received examinations.
"Filming will come to a halt, until the results come out," the series shared.
"When discussing the upcoming schedule, such as when we will resume filming and begin broadcasting, we will always place the staff’s safety and infection prevention as our top priority," they wrote.
"Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol," also starring Go Ara and Lee Jae Wook, is set to premiere on Netflix this August 26, and will be releasing episodes every Wednesday and Thursday at 10pm. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
