5 handy disinfectant and sanitizer tools for the 'new normal'
Handwashing is one of the easiest and most effective things you can do to prevent COVID-19.
But what about all those times you don't have access to water, soap and a proper handwashing station?
In a segment of GMA-7's "Unang Hirit," disinfection and sanitation services provider Diana Velez talked about some tools you can use to clean your hands easily on the go.
Velez also talked about some portable devices that can make sanitizing much easier when you leave home.
However, the public is reminded to use the proper disinfectants for these devices as some chemicals should be used with proper guidance.
1. Alcohol spray pen
There are pens that already have small containers for alcohol attached to them.
According to Velez, this pen is the ideal tool for workers who frequently have to sanitize their hands, like bank tellers and cashiers. The downside to a small, portable container is that you have to refill it every once in a while.
2. Keychain and lanyard containers
It's wise for people who are always on-the-go to keep a small container of alcohol or sanitizer on their person at all times.
Keychains and lanyard containers can help people sanitize their hands during a commute with minimun contact, and they won't have dig into their bags to look for bottles either.
3. Nano spray
There are small devices that can spray a mist of disinfectant wherever you go.
According to Velez, a hand-held, battery-powered nano spray can also be filled with sweet-smelling essential oils to make that cleaner, breathable air more pleasing to the nostrils as well.
4. Automatic dispenser
Although it's nice to have them there, dispensers for disinfectants in public spaces are used by a lot of people.
Automatic dispensers with sensors can squeeze out just the right amount needed without ever getting into contact with anyone's hands. Velez said this can be useful for places that tend to customers on a daily basis restaurants or clinics.
5. Pressure spray bottle
Sanitizing large surfaces like tables, walls and office spaces can take a lot work with just an ordinary spray bottle.
However, there are pressurized spray containers you can buy and save a lot of time and effort. Velez said you can fill the bottle with a disinfectant solution for different types of cleaning.
