'HUWAG MANG RAPE': Victoria Municipal Police Station release anti-victim blaming 'Iwas Rape Tips'
Victoria Municipal Police Station in Laguna released an advisory for rape prevention on their official Facebook page.
"Rape is not a mistake; it’s a CRIME. Teach your children to respect everyone," the caption of their post read.
Posted on July 2, it immediately went viral garnering over 16,000 likes, and more than 26,000 shares as of posting. Netizens commended Victoria MPC's straightforward, and anti-victim blaming post.
Meanwhile, members of Lucban Municipal Police Station are under investigation after it posted an anti-sexual harassment advisory, which drew the ire of netizens for apparent victim-blaming.
The now-deleted Facebook post warned women against wearing short skirts.
The hashtag #HijaAko trended on Twitter shortly after Frankie Pangilinan used it in response to TV and radio personality Ben Tulfo.
Tulfo addressed Pangilinan "hija" in his tweets, as he spoke against her opposition to Lucban Police's post.
