Vlogger Emman Nimedez tests negative for COVID-19, starts treatment for leukemia

Emman Nimedez, the vlogger who was recently diagnosed with leukemia, is starting his journey to recovery.

In a vlog uploaded on Tuesday titled "Simula na ang gamutan laban na to," the YouTube star revealed he had been classified as a person under investigation (PUI) after the doctors found that he had pneumonia.

Fortunately, he tested negative for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and was given the go-signal to start chemotherapy.

"Kaya ako tumagal ng limang araw dito bago ituloy yung chemo kasi may nakita silang pneumonia, and s'yemore pag nakitaan ka ng ganoon ngayon , ma-ta-tag ka talaga as PUI," he said.

He said he wanted to update his supporters and tell them that he's starting this journey armed with their prayers.

"Gusto ko lang kayong i-update para, at least, makita niyo ko bago ako mag-chemo dahil, pag nagsimula ang chemo, ano daw yun, parang...'yun na 'yug simula ng laban natin dito," he said.

"Kumbaga, lahat ng paghahanda, lahat ng dasal, lahat ng tumulong sakin, ito na 'yung pinaka sukdulan…Lahat ng kaibigang nagmessage, dala-dala ko sa laban na to," he added.

Emman said that he and his family had a hard time just getting him admitted, given the current health crisis.

"Wala eh, mahirap talaga ngayon. Mahirap ang sistema. Kahit 'yung pag-admit namin dito, ilang oras kaming inabot, sobrang thankful ko nalang ngayon na nandito na ko sa loob ng kuwarto na 'to dahil, hindi niyo lang alam, ang pinagdaanan namin, sobrang hirap talaga," he said.

Emman also thanked his fans for the overwhelming amount of support he has been receiving over the past few weeks.

He said, "Grabe! Ewan ko, hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na ganun karami 'yung suporta na natanggap natin. Alam din siguro 'yun ng iba, na first time lang na mangyari yun sa channel ko. First time ganun karami 'yung pagmamahal, ganun karami yung suporta, ultimo kahit yung mga hindi naman nanunood ng videos ko ay napa-comment sila o dahil doon, maraming salamat."

The YouTuber said there would be more updates to come as he wants his supporters to accompany him in this journey.

In a vlog titled "Kailangan Niyo Na Rin Malaman" uploaded last May 17, Nimedez revealed he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

He received an outpouring of support from fans, fellow YouTubers, and personalities such as Ben&Ben.
