Startup creates foot press dispensers to reduce physical contact with alcohol containers
A startup construction company has created foot press dispensers to reduce physical contact with product containers when practicing hand hygiene.
In a Facebook post, RTAN Construction said all of their projects have been put on hold due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Some of their clients have backed out altogether.
They had to find a way to help their workers earn an income, so they came up with something that can be useful during the health crisis.
"We developed this concept because in malls, groceries, and banks we see people touching the alcohol dispenser," Engr. Raynier Tan told GMA News Online.
"Right now, we need to be extra careful with our surroundings. So we tried to be innovative," he said.
Instead of using their hands, people can use their foot to dispense the alcohol from the container.

The foot press dispenser is made of metal steel with ducco finish and can fit all consumer alcohol brands. The structure is 120 cm tall and weighs five kilograms.
It costs P1,800 and may be picked up via Lalamove or Grab, but only one piece is allowed per rider. The company also offers delivery service for a fee.
"Salamat po sa pagbili ng aming produkto. Madami po kayong natulungan na pamilya," said a sign held up by one of the workers.
"Suportahan n'yo po ang gawang Pinoy," said another.
The company said they give their workers profit for every foot press dispenser sold instead of their usual daily salary rates.
"Thank you for helping us sustain our workers' jobs! Your support means a lot to us!" they said. —MGP, GMA News
