President Rodrigo Duterte extended the enhanced community quarantine in high-risk areas up to May 15 to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Gym and sports facilities are among the businesses not allowed to operate under ECQ.

Meanwhile, Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez said fitness gyms are too high risk to be allowed to resume operations in areas under general community quarantine. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
