Ateneo distributes medical supplies to COVID-19 frontliners
The Ateneo de Manila University donated medical supplies to healthcare workers in Metro Manila, who are at the frontline of the battle against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
On its Facebook page on Thursday, Ateneo said it delivered a total of 1,200 N95 masks to the Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, Antipolo City Medical Hospital, and San Lazaro Hospital.
“Natanggap na po namin ang 400 na N95 masks. Parang fiesta sa ER! Masayang masaya ang frontliners. Maraming salamat po,” Dr. Ren Catargo of the Las Piñas Doctors Hospital said.
Ateneo added it is still aiming to deliver 3,600 masks, 144 hazmat suits and 240 gallons of alcohol for medical workers in other nine hospitals in the metropolis on Friday, March 20.
The university called on the public for monetary donations to help provide more supplies for the country’s frontliners.

Several concerned citizens and companies have sent supplies to healthcare workers such as face masks, food packs, vitamins, and coffee.
As of Thursday, the Philippines has 217 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 17 deaths. Eight patients have recovered.
