Get rid of pimples by avoiding these types of food, the Skin Sensei says


Stubborn pimple problems? Twitter-famous dermatologist Dr. Winlove Mojica, aka the Skin Sensei, gave several and practical tips that you can do to avoid acne and have better skin.

In a recent Unang Hirit appearance, Mojica suggested avoiding food with a high glycemic index. Food items like potatoes white rice, white bread, watermelon, and instant oatmeal shoot up inflammation in the body, Mojica said.

"Mga Pilipinong gusto ko magpapayat, nagi-instant oatmeal. Pero makikita mo a few days after magkakaron sila ng breakout," he said.

He stressed that these foods are not forbidden, just only avoided.

"Kasi pro-inflammatory 'tong mga pagkain na ito. Hindi naman bawal, bawas lang po," he said.

Meanwhile, chocolate lovers don't have to worry so much as Dr. Mojica said milk chocolate does not have a high glycemic index.
