How do you remove pimple marks?
Pimples are a pain — the marks they leave behind even more so.
Luckily, these spots don't have to be permanent.
In an episode of Pinoy MD, Dr. Jean Marquez gives tips on how to speed up the healing.
The dermatologist said that it's normal that pimples leave marks behind in the process of healing.
That said, you should first treat your acne.
"Unang-una dapat meron kang mga anti-acne medications to control your pimples. Magpatingin ka sa doktor," she said.
If you already have pimple marks and want to prevent it from getting worse, she said that you should protect yourself from the sun by applying sunscreen.
The dermatologist also advised to avoid using harsh products and stick to mild soaps.
"Tapos mag-mild soap ka lang para hindi too harsh, hindi lalong magasgas ang face mo," she said. "Avoid using harsh chemicals and harsh toners, harsh soaps on your skin."
You should also opt for a non-comedogenic moisturizer.
"Hindi porket may tigyawat, walang moisturizers. May mga moisturizers na non-comedogenic, it will actually help your skin heal better," she explained.
And an old tip that's usually disregarded: don't pick at your pimples!
"'Wag kukutkutin, kasi 'yan ang kadalasang cause ng pagkakaron ng marks. Napaka-impatient, hindi nila maantay yung medicine na magwork sa kanilang face," she said.
