Maxene Magalona and Rob Mananquil finish first yoga teacher training course in Thailand

Maxene Magalona and her husband Rob Mananquil have ticked off an item in their bucket list, as they finished their first yoga teacher training course in Kho Phangan, Thailand.

Maxene posted photos of their graduation day on her Instagram account and said that while she and Rob were both sure that they are not ready to start a family anytime soon, they thought of "studying something that we could hopefully share with our children in the future."

“Atha yoga anushasanam. Now, the teachings of yoga.” ? When @robmananquil and I were newly married, we were both sure that we weren’t ready to start a family anytime soon. In the meantime, we thought of studying something that we could hopefully share with our children in the future and this is what ultimately motivated us to take our first #yogateachertraining course. I just can’t believe we’re finally here on our graduation day —a couple of certified yoga teachers who are beyond excited to teach yoga and meditation to our children someday ???? Thank you so much, @kalpanaradhikayoga. Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya ?????????‍??????????????‍??? #RobMaxxYoga

Rob said the journey started when he invited Maxene to join him practice yoga regularly one month before their big day.

The two searched for a "yogi, mentor, master, sensei" to whom they would feel aligned or connected to.

Rob said his heart overflows with gratitude since they began the course at Kalp?nar?dhika Yoga in August.

"Everything truly happens for a reason and this unique/transformational journey my wife and I have decided to take is truly life changing for us and for the world, something that will shape our future together, forever," he wrote in his Instagram.

The Kalp?nar?dhika Yoga was founded by their teacher Jayapr?da R?dhika "after spending five years of her life as a celibate monk in the Himalayas."

“A truly amazing teacher is hard to find, difficult to part with and impossible to forget.” This is our teacher @jaya.prada.radhika ???????????? Looking for the right teacher for your #YTTC isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do but if you do enough research, trust the process and have faith that God will connect you with the right one, best believe that He really will. ???????? We are so blessed to be trained by a real-life guru who is so sweet and sincere, so loving and caring for all her students and definitely one of the most hardworking and passionate teachers I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. (She founded @kalpanaradhikayoga after spending 5 years of her life as a celibate monk in the Himalayas. ????) One of the biggest lessons I learned from her is the importance of Shadow Work in our lives which is basically dealing with our “shadows” or aspects of our personality that we are not conscious of. The shadow, according to psychology, is the unknown side of every person. Examples of these are all the repressed emotions and traumas that have accumulated in our bodies for years because we were told not to express certain feelings or we just weren’t allowed to be ourselves. If we don’t deal with these shadows, they will eventually resurface whether we like it or not. No one else has ever explained this to me —just her! Thank you so much teacher Radhika for shedding light on this sensitive yet very important topic. Another lesson I learned from her is the value of our breath and how it can help us quiet our monkey minds. ???? Thank you so much for everything, teacher Radhika! Thank you for the inspiration, for teaching us how to breathe and for showing us the true meaning of “beautiful soul” by just being YOU. We have nothing but love and respect for you. ???????? Om shanti. Namaste ?????????? #KalpanaRadhikaTribe #YTTC

?Remembering our true intentions???????? . . Extremely grateful and honored to be here. It’s just mind blowing as I can’t believe we’re finally here. This journey actually started before our wedding when I invited my wife to join me practice yoga regularly 1 month before our day. Fast forward to 2019, celebrating the first days of January, my wife and I decided on an idea “what if we could teach the future children to meditate and learn yoga at a young age, we could imagine what a wonderful world this will be.” From that moment, the seed was planted and we instantly agreed to learn more, and be a student of yoga. We searched for a yogi, mentor, master, sensei, to whom we really felt aligned and connected. And within those moments, without hesitation, we enrolled right away. Fast forward to the end of June, when classes were supposed to start, we were updated that our classes were postponed and moved to August instead! But really, instead of it being a set back, it was actually a huge blessing from above as 1. I was still healing from my wrist injury (it will be impossible for me to do a handstand with it) and 2. We wouldn’t be where we are now, surrounded and learning from this wonderful group. Gratitude just overflows from my heart on how the stars and planets align as it was truly the perfect timing for us. Our hearts and souls have never felt so thirsty for a level we’ve never really understood and I truly believe our yoga teacher training with @kalpanaradhikayoga wouldn’t have been this valuable to us without the openness of a heart. Everything truly happens for a reason and this unique/transformational journey my wife and I have decided to take is truly life changing for us and for the world, something that will shape our future together, forever. We are just so blessed to be surrounded with amazing souls and energies. Never has the path been this clear. Om, Shanti. Namaste. May peace live in our hearts. THANK YOU God for the BEAUTIFUL gift of YOGA. ???????????????? #intentions #path #healing #love #life #abundance #blessings #peace #yoga #yogateachertraining #YTT #2019
