Jean Garcia shares 7 beauty tips that keep her looking fresh and young

The joke among insiders during Jean Garcia’s contract renewal on Monday, was that she looked like a graduating high school student.

In a black turtle neck she layered with a soft blush blouse and paired with slightly flared trousers, Jean looked fresh and young.

“Healthy lifestyle lang,” Jean told reporters. “Exercise, balanced diet — hindi diet-diet ha, kumakain ako ng gulay, ng meat, ng fruits. And at least 6-8 hours of sleep.”

For Jean, looking good is part of her job. "We owe it to the public that every time, as much as possible, paglalabas ako, palagi akong maayos para wala silang mapipintas. Kasi role model ka nila so as much as possible, you take good care of yourself and of your skin, of your health," she said.

Below are a few more health and beauty tips from Jean:

1. Get it on with facial masks. “Parang Koreans lang. I put facial masks every day, para moisturized yung face mo. Ilagay mo sa luob ng ref para after washing your face, you put it on [and  it’s refreshing]” she says adding it was a tip she got from her Korean friend.

2. Start this habit young. “The younger you are in starting the habit, mas malele-lessen yung pagtanda mo.”

3. Wear sunscreen. “Sunblock every day, even if you don’t go out,” Jean said. “After you wash your face and do your beauty regimen, put sun block. Kung magme-makeup ka, mag-sun block ka pa rin,” she advises.

4. Exercise. Jean’s preferred workout? Jogging. “Sa village lang and usually before dinner, when the sun is no longer up.

5. Eat a balanced diet. “Hindi diet ha, kundi balanced [meals],” Jean clarifies, saying she eats pretty much everything, but with an inclination toward vegetables.

6. Visit the derma regularly. According to Jean, she visits the derma once a week “just to clean your face.” She shares she does non-invasive procedures to prevent the sagging of the skin. “Nakakatulong siya, kailangan lang regular talaga.”

7. Get enough sleep. Jean says she needs around 6-8 hours of sleep. When there’s work and sleepless nights abound, Jean uses her days off to rest and recover. “I don’t go out na. Kunwari I have taping MWF, during my rest days, I’m just at home, I watch whatever, I exercise. I cook.” — LA, GMA News
