Aicelle says the 'Miss Saigon' experience made her more confident and strengthened her faith

Aicelle Santos said her year-long stint playing Gigi Van Tranh in the UK Tour Production of Miss Saigon gave her better confidence. The experience also strengthened her faith.

"I learned to be more confident in my own skin kasi nga with the bikini she wears everyday and night, nawala yung takot mo, 'yung insecurities mo," Aicelle told the press at a media conference on Monday.

And just like that we are down to our last day in Miss Saigon! What?!???? Thanks for an awesome year Gigi! I believe I am braver because of you! You allowed me to dance crazy like no one's watching and be as creative and entertaining as I can (at least to myself), 8 shows a week! Thanks for a grand holiday to places I never knew I'd see in this lifetime. You gave me peace and learning in solitude. I made new friends and discovered diverse cultures. You are worth every note sung, every tear shed and body pains endured. And for this precious experience, I praise and give back all the glory to our Father God. Maraming Salamat!???????? Now have the best last 2 shows! Let's go team!?? @misssaigonuk

Living alone in the UK, meanwhile, has made the experience a spiritual one.

"Living alone strengthened my faith," she said.

"There are times you just can’t talk to your friends and the cast because they are experiencing the same thing. Homesick is real, totoo pala siya! But in those days, you remind yourself why you’re doing it, your craft and you just  lift it all up to Him. So spiritual talaga yung experience for me," she added.

For Aicelle, being a part of "Miss Saigon" has made her a better person and it is something she will tell her future children.

"'Yung Miss Saigon experience is something that I will take with me 'til I get old. Sasabihin sa mga anak ko na this made me a better person. This made me realize the most important things in my life, and it’s a blessing." — LA, GMA News
