How this man went from 300 lbs to 160 lbs in 3 years

An episode on Pinoy MD shared Wynguard Reyes' inspiring story, going from from 300 lbs to just 160 lbs in three years.

According to Wynguard, it's really just about determination and changing ones lifestyle.

When he was still single, Wynguard and his then-girlfriend, now-wife Jeng loved to go out and try new restaurants.

"Mahilig kasi talaga kaming kumain," Jeng said. "'Pag may nakikita kami sa internet na bagong mga restaurant, tinatry talaga namin, kain lang tapos wala talagang workout," Jeng said.

Wynguard's routine consists of eating, lying down and repeating the whole cycle. He had no interest in exercising whatsoever.

This unhealthy routine did not only affect his physical appearance. At age 31, Wynguard had high blood sugar, cholesterol and hypertension.

It served as a wake up call for him to change his routine and try to get healthy.

In 2015, Wynguard started to explore exercising. He started walking around his neighborhood, following it up with simple home workout videos on YouTube and workout routines that did not require expensive equipment — like squats and lunges.

Eventually, Wynguard got himself a gym membership, trying the Cage Fitness program first.

The program's fast pace pattern, involving movements like knee strikes, bag squats, and ground and pound, became effective for Wynguard to burn excess fat.

It sounds simple and easy but Jeng said there were times when Wynguard almost gave up .

"kasi wala siyang nakikitang pagbabago physically so parang sinasabi ko sa kanya hindi naman agad-agad makikita sa physical na anyo 'yong pagbabawas mo ng timbang," Jeng narrated.

Thankfully, Wnyguard listened to his wife and three years after he began his fitness journey, Wynguard has lost almost half is weight. He tips the scale at 160 lbs.

Apart from working out, Wynguard said consistency and healthy diet are two of the most important things that one has to live by to successfully become healthier.

"Pinaka-importante talaga is 'yong consistency. So'yon kahit na gaano ka kalakas mag-workout pero hindi mo naman binabago 'yong diet mo, parang wala ring mangyayari talaga," Wynguard said.
