7 out of 10 Filipino teens don’t have a dream — study
A nine-year study conducted by Dream Project PH Founder Prim Paypon showed that 70% of Filipino teenagers don't have a dream.
He went to 54 provinces in the Philippines and interviewed 614 Filipino teenagers.
“It turns out that discouraging words from others was the most common reason behind the phenomenon, followed by the lack of self-esteem, lack of passion, lack of opportunity, and lastly poverty,” said the website Tech Shake, which published the study.
Dream Project PH is a volunteer-based organization with an aim to build and support Filipino dreams among those in the underprivileged communities in the Philippines. It was launched in June 2013.
To encourage Pinoy teens to start dreaming, the parent company of Belle de Jour Power Planner launched a month-long campaign called The Magic of Dreams. The campaign is a collection of 20 videos featuring inspiring women they plan to release on Facebook.
