These types of food cause skin asthma to stir up

Gluten, dairy, shellfish, eggs, nuts, and soya — these are the specific types of food that cause skin asthma to stir up.

In an episode of Pinoy MD, dermatologist Dr. Jean Marquez tackled the skin ailment saying weather and soap are also among the many triggers of skin asthma.

Dr. Jean Marquez said those who've had skin asthma as a child can possibly get rid of it as they get older since they have stronger immune system. But just like asthma in the lungs, it can possibly recur after it is healed.

She mentioned there are different kinds of skin asthma with varied treatments and preventive measures. There is no one way to cure it.

Apart from avoiding the aforementioned food products — gluten, dairy, shellfish, eggs, nuts, and soya — Dr. Marquez suggests taking probiotics as a preventive measure; skin asthma after all is correlated with problems in the gut or intestinal lining.
