A few easy things you can do to tame that persistent double chin
You’ve lost weight, there’s now a waist line to speak of, but somehow, that double chin just won’t bulge.
On Unang Hirit Monday, physician and wellness expert Dr. Alfonso Lagaya gave a few easy exercises to help with a few common problematic areas, like double chins and bat wings.
“Kadalasan, yung may mga double chin, chubby din ang mga pisngi,” Dr. Lagaya advises chin exercises to tame the area: touch your chin to your neck five to ten times, and then extend your head backward so you’re looking up five to ten times as well.
Tilt your head on one direction, looking as far as you can see in that direction and repeat on the other side.
Lagaya says you may want to work on your chubby cheeks too, vocalizing the vowels in an exaggerated manner. For better effect, do this with the entire alphabet and you’ll notice your face and neck will heat up. “Pag uminit yan, pati yung muscles sa leeg, nababanat. After four to six months, you’ll notice yung fats lumiliit and yung muscles mo mababanat.”
If you’re one of the many who deals with a wiggling-waggling arms every time you move it, Dr. Lagaya suggests making more use of that water bottle.
He highlights three possible ways on how to use it as a tool for exercise: horizontal, vertical, and to-and-fro.
With a bottle half full, shake it in front of you in a horizontal manner, and then in a vertical manner, and then in to-and-fro motion. “You will notice ibang muscle group [yung ginagamit] sa vertical versus sa horizontal. Yung to-and-fro, yan ang sinasabing pampaganda ng chest muscles.”
If you hold the bottle by your nape and shake it horizontally, vertically, and to-and-fro, yet another set of muslces will get a workout.
Hot tip: To tighten your wiggle waggle, hold the bottle by your nape and shake it vertically. — LA, GMA News
