Looking for a late-night Japanese fix? This Antipolo izakaya has you covered

Located in the heart of upper Antipolo, ABCT Izakaya & Kaitenzushi brings the authentic charm of an izakaya to the local dining scene.

The restaurant evokes the ambiance of Japanese pubs with its dimly lit interiors and wooden accents, where family and friends come together and enjoy delectable food and drinks.

According to owner Bernadette Coronado, who has been living in Japan for 17 years now, izakayas are casual pubs where workers often go after a long day to relax, eat, and drink with colleagues or friends.

Unlike formal dining, the izakaya way of eating is about ordering small, shareable plates paired with alcohol and enjoying a slow, social meal.

“You will start ordering drinks, and after no’n ay mga appetizers or pulutan. After no’n, ‘pag medyo lasing na, tsaka sila mag-oorder ng main dish,” she said.

Among the must-try food items in the restaurant are maguro tataki (P460), ebi tempura (P490), ebi gyoza (P260), Mt. Fuji maki (P460), potato salad (P160), teppanyaki (starts at P450), and sukiyaki (P890).

Aside from their wide variety of beers, ABCT offers fruit sour drinks (starts at P99/glass), which are shochu-based drinks that complement the rich, umami flavors of their food.
