Gabbi Garcia emotional on resto closure in Fort Strip: 'Seeing it closed broke our hearts!'
Gabbi Garcia couldn’t help but shed some tears about the closure of Ogawa, one of the restaurants within The Fort Strip block in Bonifacio Global City.
On Instagram, the Kapuso It Girl said the Japanese restaurant was the “very first place” she and Khalil went on a date in 2017.
“Ogawa has always been so sentimental to us,” she said. “It’s become a tradition to go back to every anniversary, order the same meals, and relive the memories of our first date.”
“Seeing it closed broke our hearts! We were so sad, and yes, I was crying,” she added.
Gabbi also said the now-closed restaurant “holds so many special memories” for her and the Kapuso actor and that they hope “they reopen someday so we can celebrate there again.”
Gabbi also shared their couple photos through the years taken at Ogawa, including their first date in 2017.
In December 2024, The Fort Strip announced indefinite closure beginning this year due to renovations.
Aside from Ogawa, other famous spots at The Fort Strip include Nectar Nightclub, Yes Please, and Samgyuniku.
Meanwhile, Gabbi hosted the New Year countdown in BGC for 2025 alongside Mikael Daez. —Hermes Joy Tunac/KG, GMA Integrated News
