Palabok tops TasteAtlas' list of best Filipino noodle dishes

Pancit Palabok is the number one Filipino noodle dish, according to TasteAtlas.

The publication released its list of Top 13 Best Filipino Noodles Dishes, and described Palabok as a “classic," and "one of the most famous varieties of the traditional pancit dishes and it is considered to be an authentic Filipino invention, unlike other Chinese-influenced versions."

"Even though it is commonly prepared at many Filipino households, this national favorite is typically prepared for special and festive occasions,” it added.

TasteAtlas also gave its recommendation where to have the best Palabok, naming the famous Little Quiapo in Quezon City, Cafe Adriatico, Solibao Restaurant, The Aristocrat and Cafe Laguna.

Pancit Palabok received a rating of 4.1 stars.

Pancit Malabon came in second, also with a rating of 4.1 stars, while Pancit Bihon ranked third with 4.0 rating. Pancit (4th) and Pancit Canton (5th) complete the top 5 list.

Pancit Lomi, Filipino Spaghetti, Kinalas, Pancit Lucban, Pancit Bato, Pancit Sotanghon, Pancit Cabagan and Pancit Batil Patong round up the Top 13. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA Integrated News
