David Archuleta and Benedict Cua drink lambanog, eat Filipino desserts

David Archuleta was in for a fun time as he joined Benedict Cua in a session of day drinking and indulging in Filipino desserts.

The vlogger and Kapuso actor posted a TikTok video with David as part of his #craBENs series.

“I’m a little tipsy now,” Benedict said at the start. “We had lambanog,” he wrote in the video.

David and Ben started with Zamboanga-style halo-halo, which is made with fresh fruits. Benedict said that the dessert was “crushed,” and the two started singing David’s smash hit, “Crush.”

When the American singer asked Ben about the music he listens to, he answered, “I used to listen to your music, like a lot. I even had your book.”

A flattered David said, “My book? Oh my god! I’m eating dessert with a stalker.”

Benedict laughed and teased David that he knew his birthday.

The two also had inutak (a type of kakanin) and a cake.

Benedict then asked David about his favorite Filipino food and he answered, “I do like bangus with garlic rice.”

As they clinked their lambanog-filled glasses, they sang David’s song, “The Other Side of Down.”

Aside from this mukbang, David and Ben earlier lipsynced to “Crush” in an Instagram Reel.

David was thrilled to be back in the Philippines for his Playback Presents: The Best of David Archuleta Live in Manila concert at the New Frontier Theater on September 14, and to reunite with his Pinoy fans.

“I just feel so a part of everyone here, and they're a part of my life now,” he said in an interview on “Unang Hirit.”

He was also delighted to have Philippine mangoes again.

David rose to fame after finishing as first runner-up on “American Idol” Season 7.

In 2012, he spent six weeks in the Philippines to film a series.

The singer was last in the country in 2018 for a fundraising concert and was able to try some Filipino holiday delicacies.

Aside from “Crush,” David is known for the songs “A Little Too Not Over You,” “Something ‘Bout Love,” and a cover of the OPM ballad, “Forevermore” by Side A. He also has a dreamy cover of South Border’s “Rainbow,” which he dedicated to his Filipino fans.
