Crosta, A Mano named among world's best pizzerias at 50 Top Pizza World 2024
Crosta Pizzeria and A Mano were recently named among the best pizzerias in the world at the awards ceremony of the 50 Top Pizza World 2024, held on September 10 in Naples, Italy.
Makati-based Crosta, owned by couple Ingga Cabangon-Chua and Thomas Wudwyk, ranked 12th on the global list.
Crosta was also named the 2nd best pizzeria in Asia by 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific (APAC) back in March, with Japanese chef Yuichi Abellare Ito taking took home the Pizza Maker of the Year award.
Crosta is known for its signature sourdough crust and pizza varieties for those with vegetarian and vegan dietary restrictions.
Meanwhile, A Mano, owned by Amado Fores, took the 70th spot on the 50 Top Pizza World 2024 list. It also ranked 12th among the best pizzerias in the APAC region early this year.
A Mano takes pride in its pies, which are baked in a traditional red Valoriani oven.
The top 10 pizzerias in the world are the following: Una Pizza Napoletana (New York, USA); Diego Vitagliano Pizzeria (Naples, Italy) and I Masanielli - Francesco Martucci (Caserta, Italy) tied on the 2nd spot; The Pizza Bar on 38th (Tokyo, Japan); Confine (Milan, Italy); Napoli on the Road (London, England); Tony's Pizza Napoletana (San Francisco, USA); I Tigli (San Bonifacio, Italy); Sartoria Panatieri (Barcelona, Spain); 50 Kalò (Naples, Italy); and Seu Pizza Illuminati (Rome, Italy).
Organized by the 50 Italy Group, the 50 Top Pizza issues lists of the best pizzerias in existence in Italy, Europe, United States, the APAC region, as well as a global list.
Aside from an establishment's pizza, the 50 Top Pizza awards also considers service, environment, waiting time, wine, beer, and beverage among its criteria for judging pizzerias.
For the 50 Top Pizza World list, the best pizzerias are ranked from 100 to 1, with the ranking "extrapolated from individual rankings that are divided into geographical areas."
