Chef Josh Boutwood bids farewell to Savage, announces new chapter for the resto

Chef Josh Boutwood has announced the closure of Savage. The good news is, it's not a final goodbye.

On Instagram, the celebrity chef paid tribute to the iconic restaurant, where it stood strong at The Plaza, Arya Residences in Bonifacio Global City, for the past six years.

“It’s a bittersweet moment as we gather to celebrate the closing of Savage, which has been our home for the past six years,” Josh wrote.

“This journey has been incredible, filled with hard work, creativity, and, most importantly, the support and love from all of you,” he added.

After thanking his friends, family, and the press for keeping the spirit of Savage alive in recent years, Josh said he is set to open a better version of the restaurant soon.

“The spirit of Savage lives on, and we are excited to announce that the next chapter of Savage will be opening soon,” he said.

“It will be a continuation of our journey, with new ideas, new flavors, and the same dedication to excellence,” he added.

Savage opened in 2018 and took pride in its open-fire kitchen. "We define ourselves as purely pre-industrial cuisine. We only define that by the method of cooking, we don’t define it by the flavor. We can play around with whatever flavor we feel fit to do and it still fits within the confines of pre-industrial cooking," he said back then.

Josh has been a corporate chef of The Bistro Gorup since 2012. Aside from Savage, he is also the genius behind Helm by Josh Boutwood, Ember, and The Test Kitchen in Rockwell, Makati.

Good night, Savage! We’ll see you soon.
