In Makati, a French street market will take place this weekend

In Makati, a French street food market will take place this weekend

Doesn't a weekend market full of croissants, baguettes, crepes, and more French goodies sound like a bon idea?

That's exactly what will happen this weekend as the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s Goût de France Festival or Good France returns for another year, kicking off with a weekend street market

Happening on June 1 and 2, the carless Paseo Avenue along Ayala Triangle in Makati City will host Good France will offer customers a taste of all things French including crêpes, pastries, wine, liqueur, coffee, and more.

Cooking demonstrations of some French dishes are on the agenda, conducted by chefs and apprentice chefs from Enderun.

And with the Sunday carless Ayala program still going strong, Good France is treating runners and bikers to a modest French breakfast of croissants and coffee on Sunday morning.

In the afternoon, a traditional race of waiters will be held.

But that's not all. On the week of June 9, some 20 French restaurants and hotels will offer a special menu as their way of participating in Goût de France.

They are: Europe and La Parisienne in Cebu, Lemmy’s Bistro, Chef Jessie’s Place, Admiral Hotel Admiral Club, Brasserie Sagana, Manila Hotel Champagne Room, Raffles Mireio, Peninsula Old Manila, L’Eau Vive en Asie, Bistro Le Coudre Rouge, Amihan Bistro Coron, Oro Plato, Le Cordon Bleu, Society Lounge, L’Entrecote, Lemuria, Crepe Glazik, Winedrop, and HT Wine Gallery.

On June 13, a dégustation of wines from Nadine Lustre’s Maison Bukana will be held at the Marketplace Supermarket in Edsa Shangri-la Plaza in Mandaluyong, coordinated by the French Chamber of Commerce.

Sounds good? Oui, indeed!
