Enjoy Palestinian home-cooked meals from Little Gaza's Kitchen in Quezon City
Sixteen Filipino-Palestinian families who escaped the war in Gaza are now staying in Quezon City and offer a taste of Palestine with their home-cooked meals.
As seen in Martin Javier's Game Changer report on "24 Oras," Monday, the women lovingly prepare Arabic dishes like Maqluba, which means "upside down." It is a rice dish with vegetables and meat and served by flipping the pot to the plate.
Aside from Maqluba, they also cook Qidreh (roasted chicken with spiced rice and chick peas), Musakhan rolls, and Layali Lubnan, a type of dessert.
"Na-realize namin na kailangan nila ng daily financial. Simpleng lutong bahay kung ano 'yung alam nila. Ibenta rito para 'yung mga tao buy for a cause," said Little Gaza's Kitchen founder Magasuga "Sulta" Dandamn Jr.
The families are thankful to everyone who continue to help them after losing almost everything in the war.
"Alhamdulillah, nakakatulong din sa 'min kasi nalilibang kami," said Millet Kilani, one of the women in Little Gaza. "Nagkakaroon kami ng konting inspirasyon."
For those interested to avail of their meals, you may order at the Little Gaza's Kitchen Facebook page or watch out for their next bazaar.
