Crosta, A Mano, Wildflour among APAC's 50 Top Pizza in 2024
Crosta, A Mano, and Wildflour, are putting the Philippines on the pizza map as they are named among the 50 best of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region!
On Tuesday, the 50 Top Pizza Awards, held its recognition ceremony at Istituto di Cultura Tokyo, where the Philippine pizzerias received their awards.
The 50 Top Pizza Awards is an award-giving body of 50 Italy Group, which started listing the best pizzas in 2017. It launched in Italy and soon expanded across the world to include the APAC region.
Crosta Pizzeria jumped a whopping eight places from last year's ranking of 10th to 2nd place, with Japanese chef, Yuichi Abellare Ito, also winning Pizza Maker of The Year for 2024.
Owned by married couple Ingga Cabangon-Chua and Thomas Wudwyk, Crosta is famous for its signature sourdough crust and varieties for those with vegetarian and vegan dietary restrictions.
A Mano, meanwhile ranked 12th this year, three spots higher than its previous ranking of 15th.
Owned by Amado Fores, the son of 2016 Asia's Best Female Chef Margarita Fores, A Mano is known for its traditional-leaning pizza cooked in its iconic red Valoriani oven.
The last Philippine restaurant featured on the list is Wildflour Italian, claiming the 38th spot, three spots lower than last year's 35th ranking.
This Italian-centered restaurant is under the Wildflour group led by president and CEO Ana Lorenzana de Ocampo and founding partners Walter and Margarita Manzke. The restaurant is famous for its wood-fired brick oven pizza, similar to Italy's.
Congratulations!
