La Union favorite El Union to open a coffee and sandwich shop in BGC

A visit to La Union wouldn’t be complete without stopping by El Union, the coffee shop that has gained a following because of its horchata and grilled cheese.

Now, if you miss “Elyu’s” sun, sand, waves, and coffee, you don’t need to make the drive up north to enjoy a cup and sandwich combo.

The team behind El Union is set to open Del Union in Bonifacio Global City, a shop that offers not just horchata and coffee but also hearty sandwiches crafted by Chef EJ Lagman of MAKAN at Eliseos, a well-loved restaurant in El Union.

On Instagram, Del Union mentioned they want to “imagine local coffee experience for the big city, enshrining values and learnings from provincial life.”

Excited? To give you an idea about the sandwiches they will serve, the shop shared that they recently kitchen-tested some of Chef EJ’s creations, including a beef sandwich featuring charred tenderloin, smoked aioli, beet, leek, and ginger, along with pickled onions on focaccia.

There will also be chicken, tinapa, and all-vegetable sandwiches, highlighting produce from the north.

Del Union is one of the many shops bringing favorites from the province to Metro Manila. 

On November 14, it was announced that ITIMIRO Oyster Bar & Kitchen is making Boracay's famous four-cheese pizza available in the Metro.
