This vegan food festival in Pasay City features plant-based, meat-free food

Egg omelette, siopao, and gyoza but make it plant-based and meat-free! How is that possible?

Worry no more, because this food festival held in Pasay City can make these meaty products meat-free and more healthy!

According to Vonne Aquino's report in "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, the Vegan Food Festival or Vegfest was held to promote veganism among people and help address the country's worsening climate change problem.

Vegfest Pilipinas founder TJ Jocson said that veganism is "for everyone."

"'Yung totality ng pagiging vegan, you have ethics. Nagiging kind ka sa kababayan mo, sa kapwa tao mo, not just sa mga animals," he added.

Aside from meat-free and plant-based food, the festival also featured dairy-free desserts and drinks, rescued aspins up for adoption, and clothing made from fabric scraps

The proceeds of the event will go to Vegfest's chosen foundation. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP/BM, GMA Integrated News
