Seoul's BB.Q Chicken celebrates 1st anniv in the Philippines with K-pop concert feat. Lee Seung Gi, Momoland's Nancy and more!

It's only been a year since Seoul's BB.Q Chicken opened in the Philippines but already the Korean fried chicken shop is enjoying massive success.

To mark the occasion, it decided to hold Chimaek Festival, a one-night festival on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the Bonifacio High Street Theater in BGC.

Chimaek is a Korean slang word combining the word “chi” (Chicken), and “maek” (beer). 

Momoland's Nancy and South Korean actor and singer Lee Seung Gi made an appearance that brought in a thousand decibels of shrilling. 

The three-hour concert offered a unique fusion of flavors, music. Thousands of spectators lined up to enjoy the perfect combination of BB.Q Chicken’s Korean fried chicken and beer, and to enjoy fun-filled activities and performances.

DJ Katsy Lee and DJ Arra Gunio provided awesome beats while Momoland's Nancy played host for the night.

While munching over their fried chicken, South Korean actor and singer Lee Seung Gi appeared on the stage for his much-awaited performance, to the delight of his fans.

He owned the stage for a good thirty minutes, with Seung Gi singing several songs from his discography including “Losing my Mind” from his hit Korean drama, “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho.”

He also sang his own version of The Journey’s “Open Arms.” 

An acronym for "Best of the Best Quality." BB.Q Chicken first started in Seoul in 1995. It serves Korean Fried Chicken partnered with beer, a South Korean staple food. 

They had over 3,500 branches in 57 countries, before finally opening in the Philippines on November 12, 2022.

One year since, BB.Q. Chicken now has branches in Robinsons Magnolia, The Shops at Grand Central Park, New Port Mall in Pasay City and Evia Lifestyle Center in Las Pinas.
