Chefs of World's 50 Best Restaurants gather for an outrageous dinner to celebrate a decade of Gallery by Chele
Gallery by Chele is pulling all the stops for its 10th anniversary.
Witness: It flew in chefs from world’s 50 best restaurants and invited top Filipino chefs for a 10-course dinner that’s outrageous to say the least.
There’s Virgilio Martínez of Peru’s Central, the restaurant that sits at no.1 of the World’s 50 Best list; Julien Royer of Singapore’s Odette, currently ranked at number 14; Chef Andoni Adruiz of Mugaritz, which is at number 31; and Josean Alija of Nerua Guggenheim Bilbao which was at 32 back in 2019.
Completing Saturday's luminaries is Jordy Navarra of Toyo Eatery, hailed the Best Restaurant in the Philippines for 2023, ranked at 42 in Asia's Best.
Clearly a showcase of each of the chef's top-notch talent, skill, playfulness and creativity, the delicious dinner also had Chef Chele looking back at his restaurant's 10 years, bringing old menu favorites back for the weekend. It is a reminder and a testament to the restaurant's long-standing allure, the Spanish chef's genius.
While not all items warranted thigh-slapping approval — some dishes prioritized experimentation over perfection — every dish was accompanied by a carefully chosen wine to complete the P20,000-dining experience. Extravagant? Let's say it was befitting the landmark occasion. It took Gallery by Chele two years to plan and execute the affair, after all.
The special dinner will see little difference between Saturday and Sunday, with Margarita Fores of Cibo and Bruce Ricketts of Mecha Uma joining the last day of the spectacular dining affair. — LA, GMA Integrated News
