One of Jollibee's crowd-favorite meals, the lumpiang shanghai, usually paired with a sweet and tangy orange sauce, is officially phased out.

On Thursday, Jollibee sent an official statement to GMA News Online, confirming that lumpiang shanghai is no longer part of the menu, effective immediately.

"We're happy that people have enjoyed eating our Shanghai as much as we've enjoyed serving it to our loyal Jollibee customers, and we'd like to extend our sincerest appreciation for all the support," the statement read. "Unfortunately, our Shanghai is no longer available in our stores."

"As we say goodbye to one of the staples in our menu, we invite you to try other new and delicious Jollibee meals such as our Super Meal with Chickenjoy, half Jolly Spaghetti, Regular Fries and drink; or the all-time favorite Burger Steak to satisfy your cravings," it added.

Aside from Shanghai, other discontinued offerings on the Jollibee menu included Garlic Pepper Beef and Ultimate Burger Steak.

Jollibee is a homegrown fast-food giant with over 6,480 stores worldwide, 3,285 in the Philippines, and 3,195 internationally as of the end of 2022.

Last year, Jollibee's Chickenjoy was hailed as the "Best Fried Chicken in America" by global food website Eater.com.
